Creativity Billy Ailish
Billy Ailish is a real star from the world of teenagers, and absolutely everyone can find something to say about her. Unusual, contrary to modern fashion trends in music, she literally chained millions of listeners to herself not only with unusual and captivating music, but also with stylish, sometimes even frightening video clips. Why is Billy so loved and why is she considered such a controversial musician?
1. She was accused of quirking
Just recently, the release of the song “wish you were gay” took place, after which LGBT singer fans began to be interested in the question of whether this track can really be considered a kind of exit from the closet. Then the students began to look for any hints in this test. And they found peculiar lines that said: “In order not to hurt my pride and explain the lack of interest, do not say that I am not your type, just say that I am not your favorite orientation.” They, in fact, indicate that there was no cuming out. Naturally, a lively discussion developed on the net about this track. Thus, Pride noted that “using gay orientation as a means of attracting attention is, at best, just stupid, at worst, a kind of insult, a slap on the world of pop music that suffers from the inability to speak directly about itself.” Billy herself in an interview completely denied such accusations, saying that this song should have sounded completely different, natural and simple, because her lyrical hero does not pay attention to the singer simply because he does not like girls and nothing more.
2. She really scares
Among the vibrant and eye-catching music world dominated by girls such as Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, Billy is a refreshing drink of anti-pop. Her music videos can really cause fear and disgust. What are the spiders in the clip “you should see me in a crown”, and the bloody motifs in the frames “bad guy” and “when the party’s over”. The singer herself, while giving an interview to NPR, noted that she simply likes to talk about people’s fears, about things that would make many jump under the bed from fear. She also notes that she simply wanted to bring something new to the world of music and make people feel horror, like from a good movie. In addition, Eilish notes that none of these effects in the form of black eyes, stained blood, or the spider that crawls out of her mouth was done using Photoshop.
3. She covers teenage addiction problems
In one of his tracks, namely in the song “xanny”, Billy openly talks about such a problem as addiction and substance abuse. Many saw in the text and video a call for a similar theme, however, the singer herself openly says that she does not approve of this and opposes it. On her YouTube channel, Eilish said that since she herself was a teenager, she often encountered situations where people around her used various substances, saw what was happening to them after that and how they felt. She notes that, fortunately, she is not interested in such things, and with her songs she hopes to show that the world of addiction is far from being as good as it seems at first glance.
4. Her lyrics are a fantastic invention.
It’s no secret that some of Billy’s texts are really very dark and gloomy. Many fans even wondered if they were her life experience and a kind of cry for help. For example, the track “bellyache” tells the story of a singer who, becoming insane, did very strange things. During one of the interviews, Billy noted that this song has many meanings, one of which is bipolarity. In an interview with the BBC to the question of what her lyrics mean, Billy replied that she was sick of modern music, in which everyone sings about happy love, separation, misfortune, betrayal and more. For her, this is simply too boring, and therefore she invents a whole new world into which her fans are happy to plunge.
5. She appreciates the opinion of her fans.
Being the most popular and debated teenager on the planet, Ailish boasts a huge number of subscribers to their social networks – about 26 million. She also notes that she likes criticism of any kind.
